February 16, 2008Nicole Jenkins and David Toledo both Parkdale High School seniors, scored a $750.00 second place prize from the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship local business plan competition.
They competed with a full business plan for a tutoring company, Top of the Charts Tutoring including marketing strategies, monthly and yearly projections, and goals. A total of 1,600 students entered the competition.

Everyday Edisons, the Public Broadcasting television show that documents the development process of 14 inventions and stories of the people who invented them will start it’s new season later this year. They have put out a casting call which started January 12 and will run through May 17, 2008.
What’s in it for you, you ask?
According to the organizers, if your idea is chosen, you will be given the opportunity to enter into an agreement that provides annual payments for up to 20 years, contingent upon sales of a commercial product that embodies your idea. The payments are based on sales of products that incorporate the idea, even if no patent ever issues, sales of products that are covered by a patent, and royalties that are received under any patent.
